DGM Expands Carton Converting Capabilities in India with Growing Demand for Flute Laminators, Folder Gluers, and Value-Added Packaging Solutions

At Bharat Print Expo 2026, DGM presented a complete portfolio of carton converting solutions, including folder gluers, die cutting machines, Smart flute laminators, Smart Braille systems, and inspection solutions, reflecting the company’s continued focus on supporting evolving packaging production requirements with reliable and integrated technologies. Across the Indian market, folder gluers remain a core solution within DGM’s installation base, widely applied in straight-line boxes, crash-lock bottom boxes, and multi-corner carton production, while at the same time demand for die cutting machines and flute laminators continues to grow as converters expand their production capabilities.

This shift is closely linked to changes in packaging structure, where high GSM solid board is increasingly being replaced by corrugated-based solutions such as three-ply boards, allowing converters to achieve higher strength with reduced material usage and improved cost efficiency. As a result, flute laminators, once mainly used for corrugated box applications, are now becoming an important part of mono carton production workflows, with offset laminated cartons and fluted cartons gaining wider adoption across multiple packaging segments. DGM’s Smart flute laminator solutions are designed to support stable lamination performance across these applications, helping converters respond to changing market requirements.

At the same time, the focus of the market is gradually moving beyond production speed toward value-added capabilities. Inline Braille embossing and inspection systems are becoming increasingly relevant, particularly in pharmaceutical packaging where compliance with international regulations requires accurate Braille application for accessibility. Integrated inspection solutions further support quality consistency by reducing defects and improving overall production reliability, enabling converters to meet both regulatory and customer requirements more effectively.

Regionally, DGM continues to expand its presence across India, with increasing attention on South India where corrugated packaging demand is strong and interest in flute laminating solutions is growing. Alongside this, converters continue to rely on DGM for folder gluer and die cutting solutions, supported by localized sales and service capabilities to ensure stable machine performance and responsive technical support.

While short-term market conditions remain cautious due to factors such as raw material cost pressure, working capital constraints, and export uncertainties, the overall demand for carton packaging solutions in India continues to show resilience. Converters are adopting a more careful approach to investment decisions, but the need for efficient, flexible, and value-added production remains clear. With stable fundamentals and ongoing structural changes in packaging design, the market is expected to continue developing as confidence gradually recovers.
