DGM is pleased to announce the successful in-house testing of the Megafold 1650 SL folder gluer equipped with a Cardboard Inserter for a customer specializing in corrugated packaging. The customer brought their box samples to DGM’s factory for a full-speed production simulation, and the results exceeded expectations—both in efficiency and accuracy.
The Megafold 1650 SL, designed as a heavy-duty folder gluer for corrugated and laminated board, demonstrated stable performance during the inserting and folding process. With the Cardboard Inserter module, the machine can apply inner support cards or corrugated inserts with consistent positioning and reliable alignment. This allows the Megafold 1650 SL to handle not only standard straight-line boxes, lock-bottom boxes, and 4&6 corner boxes, but also boxes requiring internal cardboard inserts and small-format twin-piece corrugated structures.
The automated inserting solution significantly improves production efficiency compared to manual processes, providing faster output, reduced labor intensity, and higher repeatability—an important advantage for customers transitioning from hand-made operations to automated carton converting workflows.
During the test, the customer recognized the stability and versatility of the Megafold 1650 SL and confirmed plans to proceed with customization after evaluating the real production results.
